Problem:
Currently about 50% of the population lost their jobs. Millions have fled their homes and became so-called ‘internally displaced persons’. There is a great need for further employment assistance. Businesses are relocating to western regions and need a boost to start up operations once again. Local and relocated businesses also need help hiring IDPs.
Short description:
The project includes assisting IDPs and all those affected by job losses, get better chances of finding new employment by offering an Employment Assistance Program (EAP), which comprises of individual sessions as well as useful group workshops. This will better prepare individuals for the job market and help them become more confident in their ability to find employment. The program also entails distribution of financial assistance grants to businesses to hire IDPs, so that they can assist IDPs in the process of integrating in the local society and become financially independent.
