Elderly people are one of the most vulnerable groups in Ukraine, especially given their low pensions in Ukraine. Since the outbreak of the war, their situation has deteriorated even further, as prices have risen dramatically. In addition, they may be suffering from health problems and are immobile, which means that they often cannot evacuate from dangerous areas. Many of them have no relatives and therefore no one to help them. This panel discusses how to best address the problems of elderly people in the context of war and what can be done to improve their situation in Ukraine.
